How to order a pet portrait
Email your digital photograph (high resolution 300 dpi) to georgina@animalspiritart.co.uk.
More than one photograph is very helpful. See photograph tips for more information
and advice. See also Photo-to-Portrait examples so you can see what is possible.
If you prefer, you can send original prints by post and they will be kept safely
and returned to you with your completed portrait. If the photos are precious please
use recorded or special delivery.
Whether by post or email, please give your full contact details, including phone
number. On receipt of your photos Georgina will contact you to go through your requirements.
Make it clear if the portrait is a surprise gift for someone in the household and
how best to contact you!
If the portrait is a composition of more than one subject, Georgina will produce
a draft for your approval before starting the painting.
When the portrait is finished, a copy will be sent to you for approval. Only when
you are completely satisfied with the picture do you send payment and then the portrait
will be dispatched.
Please feel free to telephone if you would like to discuss any aspect of the portrait
or what might be possible.
Timeframe for delivery
This varies according to how many portraits Georgina currently has to complete. The
average time from order to completion of the portrait is 4-6 weeks, but it can be
quicker and she will always try to accommodate your deadline if she can - please
ask.
If the portrait is a gift and you are getting it professionally framed, you need
to allow 2-3 weeks for framing. Georgina will agree the delivery time with you when
you place your order.
Payment options
Payment can be made by cheque, postal order or bank transfer, or online by debit
card, credit card or PayPal.
Note on copyright
The artist always owns the copyright on paintings, even if they have been commissioned
and paid for by a third party. This gives an artist the legal right to reproduce
the painting, eg for prints or cards, or use it for publicity purposes.
HOWEVER, Georgina considers the process of commissioning a portrait to be a personal
and sensitive contract and she will never use the painting of your animal on her
website or on printed material without your permission.
“You can measure your life by the number of times your breath is taken away. Opening
your portrait was one
of those occasions -
the best gift I have
ever received.”
